Recognize the Signs, Act Immediately and Say Something!

Image
What is “Say Something”? Have you ever heard about something worrying that happened to a friend or acquaintance, but you preferred to stay silent to avoid problems? Or maybe you knew someone was in danger, but because you didn't get involved, you didn't report it. What you may not have known is that by sharing what you saw or heard, you could have prevented a tragedy. Studies show that 70% of people who commit suicide mentioned it or gave a signal to someone before making that decision. The same goes for those who self-harm, suffer from bullying, or plan to harm others. What is “Say Something” about? The “Say Something” program seeks to raise awareness in our community about the importance of Speaking up and Reporting risk signs to prevent unfortunate situations from occurring. Through activities throughout the school year, the program encourages all members of the JFK community, including parents, students and staff, to take action when they notice concerning behavior....

Kennedy, The American School of Querétaro, was selected among the top 15 high-performing academic institutions in Latin America to participate in a university counselors' meeting organized and funded by CEU universities in Spain. During this experience, representatives from these institutions visited their campuses in Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, and Valencia. During this visit, I had the opportunity to observe how highly they value the profile of our students and the importance they place on the IB (International Baccalaureate) program, which opens doors to various scholarships for our students. In addition, I had the chance to interact with rectors, faculty directors, and admissions staff, with whom I experienced the rich Spanish culture in a natural and friendly way. I believe that for our students interested in studying in Spain, CEU universities offer a high-level European education, along with the opportunity to immerse themselves in a culture shared through our lang...
