Last Friday, a group of moms from 1C and some friends got together for an international cooking class. Together they learned to make Kimbap, a Korean dish, and chile relleno de picadillo with tortillas de maíz. At the request of the families from the class, the event was organized by their class representative, Julie Raworth, and was attended by mothers from Korea, Canada, and Mexico. Last Thursday, February 22, the ceremony was held where we celebrated the 84th anniversary of one of our most important national symbols: Our National Flag. The ceremony was carried out with great respect, highlighting the value and importance of our national symbol. Within this celebration we had the participation of the 4C group led by Miss Ana Juarez and the support of Miss Mayra Torres with a significant and beautiful presentation alluding to our national symbols. In the second part of the ceremony, the parade of 38 flags that represented our great JFK community was presented. We are very proud and happy to have this great opportunity to meet people from different countries and be able to live with them. The Kennedy Expat Community met last Thursday for the second edition of their annual holidays cookie exchange. With 23 participants from around the world and a delicious and diverse selection of baked good, the morning was scrumptious and kicked off December with a bang.
