JFK Union and Peace Model UN "Voices of Tomorrow"

Last weekend, the JFK Union and Peace Model UN (United Nations) event took place, under this year’s inspiring theme: “Voices of Tomorrow.” This gathering brought together young students from 18 different schools, all with a common purpose: to explore how their voices can be the driving force for change in a world full of challenges. Under the motto “The voices of tomorrow are not limited to who will create change, but how and through what means,” participants reflected on their ability to address problems that have arisen throughout history. With a focus on justice, armed conflicts, and environmental crises, students discussed how new generations have the power to reverse these issues and fight for a better future. "Voices of Tomorrow" has different interpretations, but the central message is clear: each individual must decide whether their voice will be heard amidst the world’s adversities. MS MUN Spring Training Event

Our Middle School MUN Spring Training Event involves the topics of "Removing Tangible Barriers for Children to Escape Poverty" in the United Nations Childrens' Fund and "Discussing the Accountability of the Soviet Union in the Chernobyl Disaster" in an historical General Assembly, in which our delegates will pretend it's 1986.  These topics invited vigorous debate, all the while helping our students polish their skills in parliamentary procedure.   Camille Casses, MS Principal  ------------------------------------- Nuestro evento de capacitación de primavera para MUN in Middle School introdujo los temas de "Eliminar barreras tangibles para que los niños escapen de la pobreza" en el Fondo de las Naciones Unidas para la Infancia y "Discutir la responsabilidad de la Unión Soviética en el desastre de Chernobyl" en una Asamblea General histórica, en la que nuestros delegados fingen que estamos en 1986. IMMUNS

Middle School MUN students traveled to the American School Foundation of Monterrey to compete in the IMMUNS model and were a great success representing our school.  Thank you so much to advisors Miss Tania and Miss Ana for guiding our students in the MUN club.   For IMMUNS, our Jaguars took home eight awards: Honorable Mentions to Luca Viliesi, Almudena Pérez, Ignacio Olea, and Sophia Stryer, Best Delegate awards to Eduardo Lopez Negrete, Valentina Guerra, and Juan Pablo Aguirre. HS visit to NAIMUN in Washington D.C.

  Congratulations to everyone who represented JFK along with 3,000 other High School students in Washington D.C last week at the NAIMUN LXI Model United Nations event! Special recognition to Rebe for the Book Award, Isa O and and Felipe R for a Verbal Commendations and Sofia for winning second place in the essay contest. While they were not working hard to solve world problems, our students enjoyed visiting the Washington Mall and Smithsonian Museums. Congratulations to our delegates from the MiddleMUN Club, who represented our school proudly at the CFMUN model last week!. Their dedication and hard work paid off as six of our delegates received prestigious awards: Sophia Stryer - Best Judge in the International Court of Justice, Bruno Lastra was Best Delegate at INTERPOL, Valentina Guerra was Best Delegate in the General Assembly, Juan Pablo Aguirre was Honorable Delegate in the General Assembly, Emilia Reyes Retana was Honorable Delegate in the Security Council, and María José Nájera was Honorable Delegate United Nations Human Rights Council.  This outstanding achievement not only reflects the caliber of our students but also highlights the commitment of our MiddleMUN Club to excellence in United Nations models.  A special thank you to our wonderful advisors, Miss Tania and Miss Ana, who give our students the guidance they need to succeed!  Congratulations to all the participants for their exceptional performance ...
