Environmental Certifications: Eco Schools and LEAF (Learning About Ecosystems and Forests)

For the third consecutive year, our school was certified as an Eco School by The Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), highlighting the commitment of the entire JFK Community to caring for the environment. This new school year, we will continue to reinforce all daily practices in favor of the environment to promote good habits.

In addition, for the first time we obtained the LEAF (Learning About Ecosystems and Forests) certificate. This new distinction seeks to include outdoor activities within a common process in the school program that ensures generations of people with a sustainable mentality and environmental awareness, creating leaders with environmental education and Agents of Positive Change. LEAF seeks to ensure that learning is carried out not only in its educational center but in the community so that throughout life it makes a difference.

The school, through the ecoclub, carried out various activities to receive this distinction, among them: our trip to the Sierra Gorda and environmental outings where we could be closer to environmental projects and enjoy nature. Also, during the cycle with the Ecoclub, we reinforced our garden with more medicinal plants where we were able to learn more about their properties and take advantage of their extracts and the management of essential oils to make everyday products such as soaps, therapeutic breezes, protectors. solar, herbal oils for cooking among others.

Let's continue to contribute through our small daily actions, not only at school but in our homes too!
