JFK Reads, much more than a reading program for kids!

Elementary School is excited to announce the launch of JFK Reads! This program has been reinvented this year to include Reading Journals. This reading incentive program allows Elementary students to track their reading and respond to creative writing prompts.

Through JFK Reads, students will have the opportunity to explore various books and stories, enhancing their literacy skills and expanding their global understanding. A unique aspect of this program is the active involvement of parents, who can participate alongside their children in reading sessions and discussions, creating a supportive community around literacy.

By promoting reading within the JFK community, we aim to develop critical thinking, creativity, and curiosity in our students—attributes essential to the IB framework. JFK Reads is more than just a reading program; it is a stepping stone towards nurturing well-rounded individuals who appreciate diverse perspectives and are prepared to engage with the world thoughtfully.

¡Elementary School se complace en anunciar el lanzamiento de JFK reads! Este programa ha sido reinventado para incluir diarios de lectura. Este programa de incentivo a la lectura permite a los alumnos de Elementary registrar sus lecturas y responder a estímulos de escritura creativa.
A través de JFK Reads, los alumnos tendrán la oportunidad de explorar diversos libros e historias, mejorando sus habilidades de lectura y ampliando su comprensión global. Un aspecto único de este programa es la participación activa de los padres, quienes pueden acompañar a sus hijos en sesiones de lectura y discusiones, creando una comunidad de apoyo en torno a las letras. 

Al promover la  lectura dentro de la comunidad JFK, buscamos desarrollar en nuestros alumnos el pensamiento crítico, la creatividad y la curiosidad, atributos esenciales del perfil del IB. JFK Reads es más que un programa de lectura; es un paso hacia la formación de individuos integrales que valoren la diversidad de perspectivas y estén preparados para interactuar con el mundo de manera reflexiva.

This weekend, the Jaguar spirit flooded the stands of the American Institute of Monterrey, with our 7th to 9th grade student teams participating in the ASOMEX soccer tournament. The girls' team achieved 5th place, and the boys' team brought home the 3rd place trophy! Congratulations Jaguars for your excellent performance, and to all the JFK moms and dads who accompanied them with united and enthusiastic cheers during the tournament.    ---------------------------- Este fin de semana, el espíritu Jaguar inundó las gradas del American Institute of Monterrey, con la participación en el torneo ASOMEX de soccer de nuestros equipos de alumnos de 7mo a 9no. Last Friday May 24th, our Middle School students enjoyer the Student Day Dance, an event full of music ans fun. We Celebrated our Jaguar Day with Great Joy! / ¡Celebramos el Jaguar Day con gran alegría!

On October 11th, our school was filled with energy and excitement during Jaguar Day. This special event brought together students from all sections for a day packed with sports activities, laughter, and, above all, to celebrate the birthday of our beloved JJ. From early on, students participated in many team games. Although the competition was fierce, the highlight was the incredible camaraderie, with students cheering each other on and forming bonds that strengthened their team spirit. The most anticipated moment of the day was undoubtedly JJ's birthday party. Friends from other schools, such as Cumbres, Anáhuac, Plenus, Newland, Cuauhtémoc, Gallos Negros, and Celta, joined in on the celebration. JJ, with his characteristic enthusiasm, danced, played, and, of course, received many hugs and good wishes from his friends.
