First Design Expo of the 9th grade of 2024!

For 3 months, our 9th grade students worked on the "The Storage Project". This project tackled a real issue: the lack of space to store materials. They started by researching, developing ideas, and finally building full-scale cardboard prototypes.

The students faced the challenge of turning ideas into drawings and then into constructions. To achieve this, they had to learn basic geometry concepts and develop three-dimensional products. Building their prototypes required a strategic approach, involving measuring and combining the front and side views of their designs to create functional products.

But, what is a prototype? In product design, it's an initial version of the product used to test ideas and see how they work in real life. Our students made cardboard prototypes to assess the feasibility of their ideas and make changes if necessary.

Prototypes don't need to be perfect, but they are a valuable visual tool to identify what works and what doesn't.
